TOPIC: Why no PMMA in Europe?

Is it a regulation thing stopping PMMA being available? Feels like there would be huge demand so i would have thought some option would be brought over somehow

In the past years, there was a lady doing PMMA METACRILL (the EU version), Dra Nemeckova if I remember well, in Praga. There were good and not so good outcomes aesthetic wise in the old forum. But she was a solid option. Nowadays, I think METACRILL is no longer available in Europe, so it may be the reason why we don’t have PMMA practitioners anymore. It’s a shame.

I believe dermal fillers require regulatory approval in Europe just as they do in the U.S. -- you can reach out to Linnea Safe and Bellafill (two known brands of PMMA) to see if they offer European iterations and where. The closest alternative would be Ellanse, which I believe is approved in some European nations; while the microspheres aren't permanent, they still stimulate a similar (if not identical) collagen type that you find with PMMA patients, and this kind of collagen is seemingly robust, lasting much longer than had initially been marketed by Ellanse's manufacturers (in other words, this is as close to PMMA as you'll probably get in Europe at present time, until someone can demonstrate otherwise).

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Fat Transfer still remain the most popular methods across Europe from last I gathered.
