One of the biggest misunderstandings we see around Bellafill/PMMA is that the final result is simply based on how many ccs were injected.

It is not.

Bellafill creates permanent volume partly because the body recognizes its PMMA microspheres as foreign material and mounts an inflammatory, collagen-building response around them. That reaction is not incidental; it is part of how PMMA creates a lasting result.

The problem is that no two men respond exactly the same way.

Every patient has different immune-system reactivity, tissue characteristics, skin elasticity, lymphatic drainage, shaft anatomy, prior scarring, healing patterns, and ability to accommodate added volume. One man may develop a smooth, controlled collagen response. Another may develop more inflammation, uneven collagen formation, firm areas, nodules, cord-like changes, granulomas, or contour irregularities.

That is why Rejuvall does not believe Bellafill/PMMA should be injected into a penis with no established HA foundation.

Putting a large amount of PMMA into a “virgin” penis means you are introducing a permanent foreign material and its strongest inflammatory response before you know how that patient’s tissue will stretch, how product will distribute, or how his immune system will react.

In our experience, that is a bad way to begin permanent girth enhancement.

The concern becomes even greater when a large amount of PMMA is placed too deeply. “Deeper” placement does not prevent the inflammatory or foreign-body reaction. The body reacts wherever permanent PMMA microspheres are placed. It may also introduce additional risk because deeper tissue planes are closer to important penile nerves, blood vessels, erectile tissue, and the tunica albuginea.

This is why our protocol begins with HA.

HA allows us to establish volume, observe tissue behavior, evaluate contour and symmetry, and see how the shaft accommodates filler before introducing a permanent PMMA response. Once there is a smooth, stable, adequate HA foundation, Bellafill can be considered more conservatively rather than relying on a high-volume first-time PMMA injection to create the entire result.

The “permanent” part of Bellafill is appealing to many men. But it is also the reason a poor inflammatory response, poor contour, or unfavorable complication can be much harder to correct.

We published the full explanation here:

Why Rejuvall Requires HA Before Bellafill® PMMA
