My PMMA Journey - 10 Years Later with Dr. C

I thought I'd give an update a decade post PMMA so people have some idea of at least one person's perspective.
The long and the short of it (or the wide or the thin, if you will) is: stable gains, no major issues (at least from what I can tell, more on that in a bit because there's an asterisk). Asterisk: a pronounced pig-in-blanket effect, a band around the mid-shaft that I just discovered, and weird Girth gains that are recent and not yet explainable that seemed to have come out of nowhere. Before you say "great! new Girth!" it's also from what I can tell potentially a bad thing, as it might signal inflammation or possibility of granuloma. I'm planning to get it checked out.

This all leads to the same thing you probably hear over and over: this is a big decision that you shouldn't take lightly. PMMA is irreversible and having the potential for complications -- even a decade later -- can really get in your head. If you are severely undersized to start, you may be willing to roll the dice like I was, but for those who are average or starting out larger than average, really think about it all of this because this is a one-way street.

Backstory -- I was both undersized from length and Girth. I actually don't remember original measurements, but I think original Girth was:

base -- 4
mid shaft -- 4.25
tail -- 4

These might be a quarter Inch or so off. A decade ago I could recite my stats off the top of my head. I deleted the old threads I had where all this was written, and I couldn't find any other records, so I can't say for sure.
Being undersized obviously takes a mental toll and can consume you. I found myself on the original Phallboards site (thanks SO!) and was on pretty much everyday. I was considering Elist implant, but thank God I didn't go down that route.

Pre 2016 -- years of manual exercise with zero gains. Yes, zero. I tried everything from ThundersPlace and did it all for years...with nothing to show for it. I would post there and people would tell me there's no way I couldn't have gained anything...well, that was my experience.

PMMA in 2016 -- I took the dive after several years of research and finally went for it, going with Avanti Derma and Dr. C. I had 21ccs -- 10 cc's of 10% and 11 cc's of 30%. This was my only round that I've ever gotten. The swelling was bananas at first, and the whole experience was ungodly stressful, but about ten days in things settled nicely. And honestly...it was just amazing. I was at something like 5.3 base, 5.1 mid, and 5 tail, if I had to estimate. Also, the benefits of having a longer Flaccid were really impactful mentally.

2021 -- Slight PMMA loss of size -- I took measurements in 2018 and again in 2021. In 2018 things held steady, but in 2021 there was a loss of size where I was 5.1 base, 5 mid, then 4.75ish tail. Still, no problems over all

2022 -- Pig in the blanket -- a full SIX years later, the product began drooping and covering the glans, leading to the designated pig-in-blanket effect. Aside from aesthetics, though, no actual mechanical problems. I should note that around this time I also noticed that my Flaccid was bunching up and was thus less pronounced, which had a noticeable impact on my confidence, even if the Erect stats were the same, or at least I surmise they were.

2025 -- Swelling incident -- About one year ago my penis randomly swelled up big time. I have no idea what caused it, and honestly, because PMMA was so long ago, I didn't think much of it at the time the swelling occurred. The swelling went away after a few days.

2026 -- I contemplated going in for a second round, and if you can tell from my recent posts, was worried about the impact of pig-in-blanket and additional PMMA. That said, here's the weirdest part. I just measured this week and for the first time realized that I had actually and inexplicably gained size. My stats are now:

Base - 5.5
Mid - 5.25
Tail - 5.0

I don't chalk this up to differences in actually taking the measurements -- when you were as obsessive as I was, you know how to standardize when taking measurements. Concerningly, there is also a band around the middle of the shaft when Erect. I literally just noticed this. The increase in size so long afterwards and the emergence of a band that I don't remember has gotten a little bit in my head. From a stats perspective, I'm fine, and am not risking it with additional filler. I figure 5.25 average is already in the 80th or 90th percentile, so why do another round.

I'm planning to get the band checked out and get clarity on the increase in size. Hopefully I'll keep the gains, and (more importantly) it's all benign. If anyone has questions/thoughts/comments don't hesitate to drop them.

Good luck to each of you. Thanks SO for founding this community, too -- I was there at the predecessor forum that was super unethical, because negative comments would get randomly deleted.

A final observation: I have periodically checked in over the years, but I've tried intentionally stepping away and it's been helpful for my mental health. Reading about size all day and every day can reduce everything to this variable that I think in the long run can be unhealthy.

Interesting, how old are you? How about any newly developed health issues? Diabetes, or pre or any autoimmune issues like thyroid ect? Im pushing 50 and if potentially you could coincide it with something else going on with your system it might give us some food for thought.
Anyway wish you well and thank you for the 10 year update.
