Closer wrote: Hi everyone, I\'m new here but I\'ve been lurking for a couple of years. First things first, excellent forum. Kudos to the many invaluable contributors. However, I find it really disappointing that there\'s been hardly any interest in the temporary route. The possibility of long term serious complications with PMMA concerns me enough for it to not be an option for the time being. Shame there isn\'t a \'\'go to\'\' temporary procedure in the same way that PMMA seems to be the only real game in town as far as permanent solutions go.I\'m strongly considering \'\'being part of the change I wish to see\'\' and trying my luck with a temporary filler at some point. I\'ve already made inquiries with Dr. Viel\'s office, and apparently he does still offer temporary procedures, but I\'m not sure which filler he uses seeing as according to this thread he no longer offers macrolane. I\'ll try to find out more this week. I\'m also awaiting a response to an email I sent Dr. Ralph too. Hoddle, did you ever get round to asking him if he\'d offer Radiesse? Also does anyone know via what mechanism Restylane works? Does it induce collagen growth like PMMA/Radiesse, or do the gains come solely from the product itself like macrolane? Apologies if the answers to these questions have already been posted. Cheers.

No I didn\'t speak to Mr Ralph, as the results other members got were very disappointing and also I think the possible complications with Radiesse aren\'t that different to PMMA.

However, it\'s funny you should bump this thread as I\'ve been thinking a lot about Macrolane yesterday and the French Dr in Nice, now has an English youtube clip.

In my opinion, the main issue is that everyone wants big gains and therefore lots of Macrolane injected. But, in my opinion, all fillers have the same issues if too much is injected as once and think it would be much better to start off with a small amount as an experiment just to try and gain about 1 cm in Girth. You can always go back and get more. Yes it\'s more expensive that way, but to date, all we\'ve seen if disappointed patients with large volumes of Macrolane, that they find hard to mould.

Unfortunately I\'ve been dealing with scar tissue issues for 3 or 4 years now, so can\'t get MAcrolane at the moment. But if I could I\'d happily pay the cost of a full procedure, but insist on only a small amont 10-12cc. It will be expensive for a small gain, but at least then we will be able to see if MAcrolane really does have potential and it\'s past failings are down to larger volume injections.

The two people I know who have had Macrolane had 50cc injected. They reported lumps and uneven contour. But if you have 50cc of any filler injected you are almost assured of a lumpy, uneven result.

If I had no scar tissue, I\'d go and see Mr (not Dr, surgeons usually aren\'t in the UK) Viel tomorrow. I\'d ask for 10cc. I\'d plan my after care, spend a week moulding it, maybe with a derma roller and if all is well I\'d go back and get another 10cc a few months later. If that is successful, I\'d then get 20cc injections once per year. 20cc should yield 1.5-2cm gain in Girth. If I could get that for a couple of grand a year I\'d easily do it until a better option comes along.

Actually I think I might make a consult to see Mr Viel tomorrow to discuss this. Mr Viel is a good guy.

It\'s tempting to do so sooner rather than later, but I\'ve just started using an ADS and I\'m not sure whether I could resume using it post procedure. That video you posted looks very promising. Would you prefer to be in Mr. Viel\'s hands? If so, is that simply cos he\'s more local or are there other reasons? Hopefully his prices won\'t be far off Dr. Christian\'s.

I think it would be important to wear ADS post procedure. Even if the Dr advised against it, I think I\'d keep wearing it. I think with any filler, keeping the penis as close to Erect length as possible, for as long as possible, is key to getting the best results.

I trust Mr Viel, whilst I don\'t know much about the French Dr. Also his locality helps, as I think it\'s the kind of thing that might need a few visits to get right in the first year.

If I recall correctly one of the objections against Radiesse was that it\'s FBG\'s continued to persist even after all the material is absorbed by the body. In your opinion do we have less reason to suspect that macrolane could result in long term granulomas? I\'d also like to know whether the alleged erectile dysfunction side effects reported by Swedish clinics persisted long term or ceased once the filler was absorbed. Hopefully that\'s another symptom that only becomes a risk when one has too much injected. I\'d also probably be interested in glans enhancement as demonstrated by the French Doctor if Mr Viel would do it. I haven\'t been following the PMMA glans enhancement thread though as I didn\'t anticipate that it could be an option with macrolane, so I\'m unsure what the current consensus is on how safe having one\'s glans injected is. Any thoughts?

I\'d ignore the Ed stuff. In my opinion it\'s absolute nonsense. There is no way HA could cause ED unless injected into the penis itself. Double blind studies have shown men are 3 or 4 times more likely to have ED when they think they or on medication even when they aren\'t. So it makes perfect sense to me that many would report ED, if they don\'t really understand what has been injected into them. When you read many of the concerns of PMMA patients on here, it shows that most haven\'t really researched or understood what PMMA is, so the same would be true of Macrolane.

I don\'t think Macrolane could cause long term granulomas. HA\'s seem to have a much lower rated of granulomas and you can also get dissolve it.

The main issue wit Radiesse though is cost. I think Dr C has got it right when he thinks about 9cc will be needed. I was shocked when one of our members reported decent gains with 1.5cc and not all surprised when others reported virtually no gains. Also it doesn\'t last as long as Macrolane.

Personally I\'d never consider glands enhancement. I understand why is discussed here, but wish it wasn\'t. Injecting into the spongy tissue of the glans is a different ball game to injecting under the shaft skin.

I\'ll probably be booking a consult with him at some point soon too, depending on a few things. Any suggestions for questions I should ask would be welcome.

Hoddle, can you show me the studies that suggest granulomas persist even after the Radiesse dissolves? Also, I haven\'t yet seen any studies that show a risk for Granulomas with Radiesse. Can anyone show this?

There are reports of people having to have surgery to remove Radiesse lumps, for example:

www.realself.com/review/surgery-radiesse-remove-granuloma

www.healthboards.com/boards/cosmetic-pla...t-seem-dissolve.html

Also the makers of Radiesse recommend it isn\'t used in the lips, just like PMMA, as the lips are a dynamic organ, like the penis, so the chances or a reaction are higher.

But as I said above, I think the main objection is the cost. I just don\'t think Dr G or anyone would be able to offer consistent decent gains with such little filler. If there was a generic version, that could be used outside of the US, then I think it would be a much more viable option.

\'\'if I could I\'d happily pay the cost of a full procedure, but insist on only a small amont 10-12cc.\'\' So do you think the procedure would be at a fixed price irrespective of how much volume is injected? I\'d hope for a reduction for only 10-12cc.And how did you arrive at the estimate of a 1.5-2cm gain from 20cc? Presumably an extrapolation from what those who had 50cc injected gained? In which case they gained up to 5cm/2 inches?!Also does anyone know if Mr Viel would still even offer macrolane? I thought I read on this thread that he no longer does.

I thought you said he did.

I got the 1.5-2cm based on previous results and also what the French Dr said in the video.

I don\'t know if it would be cheaper if you had less, as I think it comes in set size syringes and they can\'t use any left overs on another patient. But I\'m not sure, it might be charged by the cc.

I called Mr Viels office, but couldn\'t get an appointment for when I\'m in London.

I said that he apparently still offers temporary procedures [according to someone I spoke with on the phone from his office, but she didn\'t seem too confident, so hopefully she hasn\'t got it wrong], but that I was unsure which filler he uses because according to this thread he no longer uses macrolane. I phoned back yesterday and booked a consultation with a female secretary. At the time I didn\'t feel inlined to quiz a woman about the penis enlargement I plan to have [embarrassment], but I guess I\'ll have to call back at some point just to make absolutely sure he does offer a temporary procedure of some kind, so I\'m not wasting my time. As far as I can see on the \'London centre for aesthetic surgery\' website it only mentions that he offers \'the Penoplasty procedure\', without distinguishing between permanent/temporary.

The comment in question was from Supa on page 5:\'\'The macrolane result from Dr. Viel procedure in the clip you posted earlier looks very, very good.Would be interesting to know the exact reason why Dr. Viel stopped offering macrolane altogether.\'\'

I\'m swallowing my pride and asking what might be a stupid question: what does \'cc\' stand for?
