@Hoddle, yes, Dr. Rosenthal was my surgeon in 2010. Aside the retraction, the aesthetics were and are exceptional, no other problems.

@Justave, I\'m glad things are improving for you.

I had Rosenthal for ligament cut for length and Belladerm for thickness. I paid him $8000 plus travel expenses. After the surgery I was in pain and after waiting around four weeks I started weights like he told me to. I was still in pain when I started with the weights. After 16 months, I am still somewhat in pain and my length and thickness are the same as before I had the surgery. And now of course I have a scar from the ligament cut. When I first saw Rosenthal he examined and measured me and said I was perfect candidate and that I would gain some length and thickness. I trusted him but it did not work out. After about 6 months I saw Rosenthal again and complained about pain and that I had not gained in length and only tiny bit in thickness and the Belladerm insert was not even, the right side of my penis was a tiny bit thicker than the left side. Rosenthal said he could cut some veins to remove the pain but I did not want him to cut anymore. So then I complained about the uneven thickness not working and he agreed to give me some juvederm filler to make my penis thicker and to smooth the thickness. I said that is OK if you don\'t charge me. He agreed to do it for free. But the juvederm filler did not work either (maybe he did not give me enough shots). Right t now after doing all of this, I am still the same size in length and thickness as before but with some pain and the scare. Also, I had read that ligament cut would make my penis hang lower, but it does not, so even the lig cut did not work. I finally went to see a regular Urologist and he told me to not do anymore surgery or I might lose some hardness and sensitivity. Obviously, I do not recommend Dr. Rosenthal!

I don\'t think Rosenthal is a bad surgeon per se. In fact I\'ve heard good things about his surgical technique. I just think the allograft technique is very inconsistent and has potential to be problematic.

My problem with Rosenthal is that not only did the Belladerm not work as he said it would, but the ligament cut also did not work as he said it would after I kept following his directions for using Hanging weights. I kept in contact with him, sent him photos, and saw him four times and he kept saying keep Hanging and you will see results. No results from the lig cut after 16 months. My penis still has the same angle, does not hang down and is not longer. When I complained, he wanted to cut some veins and at that point I lost trust in him in terms of increasing length.

I don\'t know why they keep pushing lig cuts. They do nothing if you are lucky and damage if you are not.

Juan Mendoza, I\'m curious. What was your Hanging routine? Most of the people I\'ve known who have hanged have had some kind of gain. I myself had a lig cut 20 yrs ago and hung for only a few weeks after my procedure and I gained .5-.75 of an Inch.

That\'s crazy - I had to hang 8 hours a day min for a year and a half after my lig cut and I got between 1.25 - 1.5. I always assumed it was the Hanging and not the surgery.

I wasn\'t aware you\'d had previous surgeries Chester
Can you give us a brief history of your procedures?

Hanging routine was what Rosenthal said to do. First I ordered the weights from a company and address in FL he gave. I started Hanging after about 4 weeks after surgery as he suggested. I started with 4-6 pounds maybe 4 hrs per day and gradually moved up to 8-10 pounds about 4-5 hours per day. I did this for about 5 months. I was a bit longer after taking weight off but it would disappear. Also the lig cut did not make my Dick hang lower, even the weights did not. I also continued to have some pain/discomfort.

My Belladerm with Rosenthal turned into a nightmare. I wont go into the details again as I\'ve posted about it before, but don\'t do this surgery.

You are citing Dr. Elist, arguably the least popular American doctor who performs Phalloplasty. His procedure has yielded a 100% dissatisfaction rate among reporting members (that\'s pretty bad), many with major complications. What could he possibly know about the efficacy of other procedures? Please cite something more credible in the future, thanks.

i never put that link in for elist intending to prop him up...just more info, one of the few with some web info back then. But you are right... quoting or citing anything which looks credible nowadays is iffy at best. Anyway, years later, same crap... trying to figure out how to cut the cord. If only we could go back
