Infections, Complications, Risks of PMMA? 15 years 1 week ago #1271560421

If NewPlastic is made in 2%, 10% and 30% mixes then how can Dr C give some of his patients: 5%, 20%?

Unless one mixes 2%+10% to get 6%, 10%+30% to get 20%... and 2%+30% to get 16%....

As some one mentioned on this site, mixing %\'s is not a good idea unless done under strict conditions.

Now, If and only IF this is the case, is it possible that some of these complications are due to mixing these percentages which have different carriers due to the different %?

Inquiring minds need to know!

\" is it possible that some of these complications are due to mixing these percentages which have different carriers due to the different %?\"

I think if Dr.C. did notice any complications from mixing these %s, he would stop doing it long time ago ( I think he is doing this mixing for a longer period ).
Almost all the doctors esp. in Brazil are using 30% for the penis, so I am sure he used this conc. at the beginning but the good thing about this doctor he did listen to his results and improved his methods and techniques and never followed the others.

So, can we confirm that mixing different percentages does not have any negative effects?

I had seriously considered going to Brazil for a visit and to check out their 30% PMMA and their Doctors. But after reading about Dr C and Wade, I realized I can trust them. After meeting the Dr, I can tell he is a great guy as is Wade and staff. I am questioning every possible avenue to see why all of a sudden we are seeing more bumps and nodules. Again, may be there was a batch of PMMA not up to standard?

Agree, most of the issues were/are to do with entry points.

Yes, I am thinking a little of 30% around the base only and then 20% mid shaft to 10% near glans. Will discuss with Dr C on my 3rd and hopefully final session, although may be we should never say final session ....This shit is addicting!

Hello boys! My first post. Was wondering what PMMA would look like on x ray or ct or mri scan once the collagen is laid down? Would my doctor know or suspect anything or diagnose it as something else if I didn\'t tell him? Also would any doctor know just by examining me if they have not seen my penis before PMMA? Cheers!

A doctor would certainly be able to tell through palpation.

I am experiencing very hard and highly detectable areas at the entry points. At each point inside there is a small lump. I had entry at the base only with 10% and 20%.
I plan to deal with them in my last session unless I should start now. I am hoping a Kenalog shot works to resolve them. Has anyone experienced this? Any advice on how to deal with it?

@S.O. , I would like to move this to a new thread (but I don\'t know how) so I can expose it to more members and have discussions and feedback

We\'ve discussed PMMA concentration, type of cannula and injection site as reasons for the nodules we are seeing. But, I\'m sure I\'ve read some Dr\'s claim poor tecnhique is the main reason for nodules. Is it not possible that Dr C just isn\'t very good at bioplasty? We know he\'s considered a world leader, but that doesn\'t actually mean much other than he does alot of it. I\'m not judging the guy at all as I\'ve never had a procedure with him and maybe the nodules have nothing to do with his technique, but I don\'t think we should rule out the possibilty that he simply isn\'t very good at this. It does seem kind of odd that we are seeing so many reports of nodules. At times it seems as if half the guys having this report nodules. That surely can\'t be normal for PMMA, can it?

Hi ndbig1,
I am sorry to hear about these small nodules at the entry holes at the base, imo the reason for that is because some beads came directly after the injection close to the superficial layer e.g. dermis at the entry holes and stayed there and clumped at this site ---> macrophages will encapsulate them and new thick collagen formed around them---> nodules (to prove that :- The nodules you have now are attached to the skin above it and that comes e.g. from superficial injection of PMMA and not like the rest of your PMMA penile area where your skin is not attached to the PMMA). It is known that PMMA beads if they were injected into the dermis fo the skin can form nodules, and that what did happen to you but in your case the PMMA beads were not injected deliberately into the dermis they came out from the deep injected area to the superficial area e.g. dermis and clumped there ---> nodules .
So it is not due to the technique of Dr.C. (i.e. during the injection) these nodules happened during the period directly after the injection, so to avoid this in the future is to massage and squeeze the entry holes esp. in the 1st 24 hrs and prevent as much as you can any beads to clump and accumelate at these sites.
Sure Kenalog will help in softening and will resolve these nodules and to be repeated after 4-6 wks and not later than that if it is needed, but in the 2nd shot he has to increase the dose of the Kenalog if he didn\'t get any good result from the 1st shot . N.B. better no massaging after Kenalog injection.
The good thing about it is these nodules are at the base (i.e. thicker skin than the thinner skin at the Circumcision area) so the risk of skin Atrophy from Kenalog injection at this area is lower.

Nodules of the sort I\'ve been reading about seem to either be some kind of scar tissue formation (basal) and/or accumulation of PMMA (circum-to-glans) around the entry point. The palpable bumps around the base of my shaft are almost entirely gone, when after Round 1, they were very noticeable to the touch (but not visible).
The nodules near the glans may be more of a result of an accumulation of PMMA at the entry points. My nodules, as theorized with M7, and discussed with Wade, are likely the result of not squeezing out as much of the \"puss\" from the entry points post-op. Wade was very clear that I need to be aggressive with this, but my post-op situation did not afford me adequate time in this department. Now the nodules have the appearance of \"pimples under the skin,\" which may lend to this scenario. It isn\'t painful, and has actually become less pronounced (albeit only very slightly). Can\'t say definitively if this is the cause (yet), but it stresses the importance of staying 24-48 hours in TJ or San Diego to allow your penis to get the proper squeezing, massaging, and to keep it elongated as long as possible.

@ E.P. AND S.O. I do believe that both of you are right. I am sure I was not as aggressive as I should have been. I definetly dont believe I should blame Dr. C..
In fact I will still go back a few times. I did wear an extender almost right away.

In fact , I actually don\'t want it to be addressed now, at least I think so. I want to wait till Im done with all sessions so if it keeps happening I wont have to keep re-addressing it.

i never squeezed any of the entry points in my two rounds. i put neosporin and let them heal on their own with zero issues. However i am not a bruiser or a sweller my penis always looks good right after. Not sure if that has anything to do with it

Normally, if the entry points are at the base, they use surgical tape to cover these points right after PMMA hence it is not easy nor have they recommended to squeeze these pints. On the other hand, when the entry points where done near the glans, then Wade would insist on massaging and squeezing PMMA out of them till they close up.

In my case, I had no problem at the base in my two sessions, but I did and I still do have an issue with small bumps at the glans area in the 2nd session even thu I squeezed and massaged the area for a few days after. It is not a big problem but I would like it fixed. I have asked Dr C directly and he said it will be taken care of in my 3rd and final session.

FWIW!

Those basal bumps in your pictures are similar to what I had. They weren\'t nearly as visible as yours, but were about as palpable as I would imagine yours to be (I could notice them very well to the touch). The good news is that I can no longer feel / find them.
