@fran Berlin
I am very sorry to hear about your complication with pmma and we are all here to learn more and to help each other.
You have mentioned :-
I am coming from germany and had an opertion with dr Valter in Rio de Janeiro 3 years ago. The esthetic result after the operation was not good. I had product at the base of the penis, and nothing at the top. I had to stop sexual relations until he operated me a second time (for free), as he noticed the result was not good. Bit still I had to pay for the trip from Europe, and suffered during a whole year without sexual relations.
So the 1st complication you had was an aesthetic issue i.e. Dr. Valter injected mostly at the base and not at the front part of your penis so was the reason of not having sex after the 1st round :- 1- You tried to have sex but you couldn\'t because of the bulge at the base?2- Or was the reason only the bad aesthetic look of your penis?
Honestly, after the second operation, the result was ok. I felt relieved.
Did Dr.Valter inject in the 2nd round only the front part with pmma or did he inject steroid (e.g. Kenalog) at the base only to reduce the size of the bulge at this area?
But a year after, progressively, my body started to reject the PMMA (product injected).This means I started to have granulomas, small, average and a big bowls (like a kyst). I had to stop sexual relations again.
I think you meant by saying PMMA rejection is a Foreign Body Granuloma ( and not really rejection and extrusion of the pmma beads out of your skin??).
Were these granulomas mostly at the base or at the front of your penis ?
Do you remember that your skin was rough or nodular (i.e. pmma beads were attached to the skin) in the area where the FBG\'S had developed ??
I talked with my doctor about this and told her the truth, even if I felt ashamed. I saw a dermatologist, then a surgeon who operated me 3 times to extract the granulomas. I have just had the third operation. I still have to wait for the final result because it is still inflammated. But it was not easy because I had an hemorragy after the first \"extracting\' surgery. The second and third reconstructive went well. It does not hurt. I read on many forums that the PMMA is often rejected after some years. For me, it happened two years after the first operation by Dr Valter.
Did your dermatologist try to inject steroids into the granulomas before you went to the surgeon ??
Don\'t go for more surgeries for treating FBG\'S before you try Kenalog injections (FBG has a finger-like extensions so the doctor has to excise a free margin area around it for complete removal.
There is one famous doctor who has a great experience and one of the best in europe in treating pmma-FBG\'S her clinic is in Paris -
